The Story
Scorpius Overview
The Scorpius is a two-seat heavy fighter developed by Roberts Space Industries Applied Innovations division, built as a modern answer to heavy combat, interception, and dogfighting. With a distinctive bi-wing profile and an innovative rail-mounted remote turret, the Scorpius delivers exceptional fire coverage for both offense and defense, making it a strong enforcer-class addition to any combat-ready fleet.
Weapons and Missile Payload
The Scorpius brings a serious bite with eight Size 3 gun hardpoints paired with missile racks capable of holding up to sixteen Size 2 missiles. This mix of sustained gun pressure and flexible missile threat makes it dangerous to everything from light fighters to tougher targets that underestimate its reach.
Powerful On-Rails Turret and Flexible Control
Its signature rail-mounted turret mounts four Size 3 ballistic cannons, providing impressive range, coverage, and firepower. A dedicated operator can take full control for maximum effectiveness, or the system can be slaved to the pilot in a restricted forward-only firing mode. With dual defensive and offensive configurations, the turret can adapt to escort work, interception, and aggressive pushes.
Convertible Spaceframe and Bi-Wing Performance
The Scorpius features two unique wing configurations designed to improve efficiency, optimize cruising speed, and enhance combat handling in flight. The convertible spaceframe also reduces the ship’s profile on the ground, helping with storage, landing practicality, and tighter staging environments.
Equipment Storage and Crew Loadout Support
For a two-seat fighter, the Scorpius includes practical storage for both crew members. Two 1,500k µSCU storage units provide space for essentials, and a drop-down external weapon holder supports two rifles, two pistols, and two small gadgets such as a multi-tool or paramed device. Both storage features are accessed externally and are located beneath the cockpit for quick turnaround between sorties.
